Yay it’s May! And I know I’ll probably be complaining about how “hot” it is here in Chicago in a few months, I am just ready for some sun, warmth, flowers, leaves on the trees, etc. Everything our really long winter has denied us this spring. April has been a pretty good month for me in terms of life. I try to take the good with the bad when it comes to life and even though my diabetes is kicking my butt right now, I’m keeping positive and trudging along. Now onto my faves…
Too Faced Melteds – I raved about these here. As I tested them out through out the month of April, I fell in love with them. Melted Peony is my go to lip color on days that I wear a lippie. Love the texture, packaging, wear time, etc. of these. I am seriously thinking about getting Melted Ruby or Melted Coral Next!
Too Faced Bonjour Soleil – I also raved about this here. Bonjour Soleil has been my go to for all my bronzing needs. I tend to reach for Snow Bunny the most in the palette but I have been using Chocolate Soleil as my go to contouring shade.
Bare Minerals The True Romanctic Quad – I never officially reviewed this palette because my blog was down at the time I purchased this. It was a limited edition product and I am not sure if this is still readily available. The is a wonderful collection of copper, muted white gold, matte medium taupey brown, a pretty shimmery peach and an intense coppery bronze shade all housed in an adorbs rose gold package. Bare Minerals line of pressed shadows are amazing and this quad is no different. True Romantic is not available in stores but it can be found at retail online from several sites. I’ve included a close up of the palette and swatches!
Urban Decay Electric – Another product I reviewed here . While not an everyday palette I do enjoy using Electric when I want to perk up a boring look with some color. As I stated in my review these are pigments and can be used to create custom color cosmetics too. Making it a great tool to learn about color theory.
Ojon Rare Blend Oil Moisture Therapy – I’ve been on the hunt for an actual hair oil that is, well, oil! SO many hair oils are just silicone with a hint of the natural oil. Finding pure argan oil is easy but my hair hates argan oil so I needed something else. I will be doing a thorough review of the Ojon Rare Blend Oil in Moisture Therapy in the future I’ll just say it has been a go to product for me for the month of April.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick – Yes, I am a beauty blogger that actually uses the products she reviews? OMG! Sarcasm aside I reviewed this here. Bobbi Brown has made my everyday face routine that much easier with their Skin Foundation Stick. The finish is truly invisible when used correctly. Currently this is the only foundation I use on a consistent basis. It’s easy and light enough for everyday use. I cannot rave about the Skin Foundation Stick enough.
Toni & Guy Curling Iron 1 1/4 inch – I have had this curling iron for a while now. I use this as a curling wand because I get better curls from it when I wrap my hair around the barrel as opposed to using it as a traditional clip curling iron. I get great long lasting curls/waves using this that are shiny and frizz free. My friend and makeup artist Norah Salazar can attest to how great this drugstore iron is!
Hourglass Ambient Light Palette – Hourglass released their Ambient Light Palette for Holiday 2013 and it was so insanely popular that they have brought it back and made it part of the permanent range. I’ll be reviewing this product as well. But I will just say I have two of these: one for me and one for my kit. Yes, it is THAT good.
Sodastream – I received this is as a gift from Sodastream and the Lifestyle Bloggers National Conference in March. I’ve been playing with it ever since, making all sorts of carbonated beverages using the syrups you can buy in store. I have a post coming up about the Sodastream. I just felt it deserved a mention as it’s been a fave household gadget of mine the past month.
Bath & Body Works Lemon Drop Mason Jar Candle – My go to candle this past month. It smells like Lemonheads but when you burn it it’s not an intense and almost smells like a lemon pie. Lemon Drop was part of their Candy Drop Collection and I am not sure if this is still available. If it is I need to stock up!
Real Housewives of Atlanta – These women has been giving me life this month. Between Porsha finally standing up for herself and dragging that loon Kenya across the stage on the reunion to Nene telling Peter to stay out of women business. This has got to be the best season of the show yet and I have to admit that I am HOOKED!
