bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is a new addition to the bare Minerals line. Each tube of product contains 1.18 fl. oz. of product and retails for $29.00. There are ten shades available in the bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. This new product is available at all bare Mineral retailers, stand alone and online. Here’s the official 411 from bare Minerals:

What it is:
A versatile gel cream that combines skincare benefits and naturally radiant coverage in one.

What it is formulated to do:
– Mineral-based formulation that combines the best of a BB, a CC, and a tinted moisturizer to provide increased skin hydration after just one week
– Features SPF 30 sun protection
– Comes in 10 shades

This versatile cream achieves dewy, sheer-to-medium coverage to give skin a radiant, soft, and smooth-looking appearance. Formulated with mineral electrolytes to help energize skin, it’s also infused with marine botanicals to help replenish dry skin. It contains heart-leaf globe daisy, an antioxidant, which aids in protecting against environmental stressors—improving the appearance of skin while keeping it hydrated.

Can it be? A product that actually can back up it’s claims! YAAAAAS honey! bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream has quickly become a MUST have in my daily beauty routine. This extremely long wearing skin care meets foundation hybrid is the bee’s knees! bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream provides sheer to light/medium coverage depending on the skin issues you’re dealing with. I find I get the perfect amount of overall coverage for daily wear with one application.  I haven’t tried to build up this product because if I want to amp up my look I’ll use concealer on the areas that are a problem for me to avoid possible caking associated with “building” foundation type products. bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream wears flawlessly for me all day without settling into fine lines, clinging to dry patches, fading or rubbing off. I almost want to say my skin looks better the longer I am wearing it which sounds insane. It’s lightweight and breathable. Also, the SPF built into the formula doesn’t throw white cast in photos. A HUGE bonus for moi!

The packaging claims that after a continuous seven days of wear you’ll see some improvements in your skin’s hydration and I have to say that for me this is completely true. During my testing phase (as a foundation alternative) I noticed my skin was nicely hydrated even during the cold snap we have experienced here in Chicago. It played well with my existing skin care routine which is a plus for me.  And when I discontinued daily use as a foundation to see if I was just nuts, I did notice my skin was drier and was definitely on the duller side.

bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream can be tricky to work with. It is a gel based product and it dries down very quickly. The package directions state to apply with your fingers (even though a new brush was released and marketed with this) and I would say that applying with a brush for a formula of this type is better. I even avoid placing it on my hand to apply from, I use a Make Up For Ever  metal mixing tray to apply from. I do my face in areas: nose, forehead, chin, left cheek and right cheek using a flat kabuki face brush. That method worked best for me with bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream.

Skin care and coverage in one? Wha what!  bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream has become a fixture in my daily beauty routine. I can’t wait to see how this performs in the warmer months. Have you tried bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream yet?

bareMinerals Spring 2015 Modern Pop

bareMinerals main ebblog

The bareMinerals Spring 2015  Modern Pop is in stores now. The limited edition collection includes Ready 4.0 Eyeshadow Palette in The Modern Icon ($30.00), Modern Pop Lash Domination Mascara ($18.00), Modern Pop Cream Glaze Lip Topcoat ($18.00), Modern Pop Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner in Classic Cream ($16.00) and three shades of their Modern Pop Marvelous Moxie Lipstick (Dream Big, Express Yourself and Fall in love $20.00 each).  This collection is available at select bareMinerals retailers nationwide but it will be out of rotation soon as Summer 2015 releases are on the horizon. For some reason bareMinerals Spring collections always speak to me and this collection was no different.

While I really love the sleek silver packaging of the entire bareMinerals Spring 2015 Modern Pop collection I did not buy everything! I exercised restraint and grabbed the Ready 4.0 Eyeshadow Palette in The Modern Icon and Modern Pop Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner in Classic Cream which to me are the real standouts in the Modern Pop Collection. Don’t get me wrong I’m not bashing the rest of the products in the bareMinerals Spring 2015 line, I’m just more of an eyeshadow/liner kind of gal.

ebblog bareMinerals The Modern quad main

The bareMinerals Spring 2015 Modern Pop  Ready 4.0 Eyeshadow Palette in The Modern Icon is one of the best eyeshadow quads in terms of quality that I have bought in a VERY long time.  In this quad you’re getting Chic ( a light, soft matte pink), Carefree ( a slightly shimmery peach shade), Sophisticate (a beautiful matte smoky amethyst) and Exhale (a deep matte taupe). All four shades are extremely pigmented, soft, blend easily even over a primer and can be long wearing depending on your skin type. I have to wear primer because I have hooded, oily lids and over my preferred primer I get all day wear with all four shades in The Modern Icon Palette. The quad reminds me of smoky meets spring pastels, perfect for days and evenings. You can add subtle pops of muted color with this quad without bordering on clown makeup. My one minor gripe is that Exhale is somewhat fallout prone so either apply your eyeshadows first or use a very light hand when applying it.

Drop your white eyeliners and run, don’t walk, to grab the bareMinerals Spring 2015 Modern Pop Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner in Classic Cream before it’s gone! This gorgeous, matte cream shade will give your eyes that wide awake look without looking overly fake like white eyeliner does. Classic Cream is EVERYTHING you want in a flesh toned eyeliner: long wearing (like it’s name applies), vibrant, matte and water proof once it sets. This handy little liner can also double as a way to enhance your lips giving you the illusion of full, pouty lips when you outline (not line!) your lips and then blend out. An eyeliner like Classic Cream is truly classic and the formula here is fab. I also like that you get a smudger on the other end making it great to pop on your inner corner of your eyes as well. Pro Tip: Before applying eyeliner to your lower water line use a clean cotton swab to gently remove any excess moisture. This allows for a clean, even surface to apply your liner on and aids in wear throughout the day.

bare Minerals Destination Glow

bare Minerals Destination Glow ebblog

bare Minerals Destination Glow is a six piece (including the totally adorable mini tote) limited edition set for the Summer 2014 from bare Minerals. This set includes five full sized items and retails for $39.oo. The retail value of the bare Minerals Destination Glow set if purchased separately is $87. I want to say this is an Ulta exclusive as I have not seen it anywhere else. It is still available on the Ulta site and in stores.

bare Minerals Destination Glow contents ebblog

The beyond adorable bare Minerals Destination Glow summer set is definitely beach themed. All of the products included in the Destination Glow set are designed to be either long wearing, waterproof or hydrating all optimal for outdoor summer wear. Not that I normally wear makeup to the beach but I would wear the items in Destination Glow to an amusement park, a BBQ or some other summer destination. The set breaks down like this:

bare Minerals Destination Glow BB Eye Cream

5-In-1 Advanced BB Perfomance Cream Eye Shadow Broad Spectrum 15 in Soft Linen (0.10 oz.) – I bought this set just for this product because at the time these were only available exclusively in sets. You can now purchase the 5-In-1 BB Performance Cream Eye Shadow on the bare Minerals site and I believe these officially launch in store soon. 5-In-1 Advanced BB Perfomance Cream Eye Shadow are touted to wear for 12 hours and unfortunately Soft Linen did not stand up to the heat and humidity of Chicago’s summer. I wore Soft Linen on a hot, humid day without primer and it creased within an hour. When used with a primer or as a primer I had no issues with lasting power or fading. The formula itself is very soft, creamy, easy to apply, blends well and sets to a powder-like consistency. The “bb” aspects of it are really just fluff with one exception, Soft Linen did brighten up my tired eyes. The product itself is housed in a frosted glass tube and it is applied with a doe foot applicator, much like the classic Urban Decay Primer Potion. I like this product but I am iffy about buying any other shades as I feel Soft Linen is the best shade for me and the other shades in the line appear to be more on the lines of neutral skin tones as opposed to straight on color.

bare Minerals Destination Glow ebblog eyeshadow

Riviera Eye Color in Sunbaked Bronze (0.02 oz.) – The perfect shade of shimmery bronze for the summer. I thoroughly enjoyed this shade as it can be applied lightly or a sheer wash or layered for an intense, almost smoky finish. Sunbaked Bronze was the first time I had ever used a loose bare Minerals eyeshadow and I had no fall out issues applying it from the jar to my face. Sunbaked Bronze wore for hours upon hours over primer without primer I got a good hour crease free. I would like to state that I have oily, hooded lids so very few product

bmdestglow ebblog 8

Full Size Flawless Definition Waterproof Mascara in Black (0.33 fl. oz.) – I was not exactly wowed by this mascara. While long wearing and waterproof, it is very difficult to remove and I don’t really feel it does much for me in terms of volume and length. It does deliver in the definition promise but Flawless Definition Waterproof Mascara will clump while attempting to layer it. The formula reminds me of an expensive version of Covergirl’s Clump Crusher Mascara without the ability to keep adding layers without clumping. The brush is a very full and made of synthetic hair like bristles. Flawless Definition Waterproof Mascara will work for me on the days when I need a waterproof mascara and those are few and far between: beach/water park days.

bare Minerals Destination Glow review

Faux Tan Matte All Over Face Color (0.05 oz.) – I have to admit I didn’t like this when I swatched it. Faux Tan Matte looked almost orange and I didn’t think it would work for me. Surprisingly, Faux Tan Matte works very well to add a sun kissed glow to my skin. I don’t think I could use this to contour with as it would probably look a little muddy but just a touch of this on the high points of my face gives me just the right amount of bronzy, summer glow. On it’s own the wear time will vary depending on your skin type. I had no issues with it on my cheeks, forhead and chin. It faded on the bridge of my nose in two hours when wore alone. Combined with a primer and foundation I had ZERO wear issues with bare Mineral Faux Tan Matte All Over Face Color.

Loud & Clear Lip Sheer in Magenta Vibe (0.07 oz.) – Hands down, my favorite item in this set. If you don’t know by now I am not a bright/loud/bold lip girl. The Loud & Clear Lip Sheer in Magenta Vibe is just perfect for me! It’s the perfect punch of color without being too much for me. Magenta Vibe is a tinted lip balm which is meant to be on the sheer side, imparting just enough color and moisture. It doesn’t bleed all over but it also not a very long wearing product either. Wear time aside it is a lip balm that is perfect to toss in your purse for those days when you need a hint of color and moisture. Magenta Vibe is exclusive to this set as far as I know.

Ready for that summertime BBQ! Foundationless face, dark eyeliners are Urban Decay, brows by Anastasia and concealer is from The Balm, everything else is bare Minerals Destination Glow.

All in all, I really like bare Minerals Destination Glow. I was surpised that my favorite of the bunch is the Loud & Clear Lip Sheer in Magenta Vibe. I really want to try more from this line of bare Minerals products.  As I mentioned before this appears to be an Ulta exclusive which means that if you are signed up to receive their e-mails they occasionally offer discounts on their bare Minerals products and picking bare Minerals Destination Glow on a discount is a GREAT deal. Have you tried this set? Do you have any bare Mineral faves?
