My Christmas Eve 2015 Outfit Plus Giveaway

Christmas Eve 2015 outfit main

So the countdown is officially on. Fifteen days and counting until Christmas. This year I have so much going on around me that I have had to adjust my Holiday timelines. I usually wait until the last minute to pick up a little something to wear for my Christmas Eve dinner but this year I really won’t have the time thanks to some last minute (and much appreciated!) work opportunities.

I had a very specific idea for my Christmas Eve 2015 outfit. I usually go with my fave LBD but this year I wanted to switch it up some. One of my favorite fashion trends for Fall/Winter/Holiday is plaid. I’m mad about plaid this year! I’ve never owned a plaid skirt and I was really attracted to the longer midi length skater skirts that can be worn rather high (to hide my tummy!). I actually found one online that I loved.

Now I was on the hunt for the perfect top to go with it. I knew it had to be rather fitted because the skirt is rather flowy. I found a really cute fitted mock turtleneck in black that helps to slim down my arms and makes the girls look rather perky.

Since I am opting to wear the skirt higher on my torso I don’t have to worry about wearing Spanx (Yes!) and since I am hosting Christmas Eve dinner I don’t need to worry about adding a clutch or coat to my look. I’m going to finish my outfit with my trusty all black riding boots and black knee socks that will peak out from the tops of my boots.

Mirabella Jewel Thief Holiday 2015

(Press Samples)

mirabella jewel thief holiday 2015

Mirabella’s Holiday 2015 Collection is set to steal your eyes and lips this holiday season! The Jewel Thief Holiday 2015  collection consist of two of the cutest eyeshadow palettes I’ve seen in a while, two new additions to their Velvet Lip line and an eyeshadow pencil. The entire collection is available now on their site.

Mirabella is one of the most underrated cosmetics brands out there right now. Seriously, I haven’t disliked anything I have tried from Mirabella before. And this collection is really no different. Before ! breakdown what was sent to me let me just say that Mirabella’s Brow Pencils are also insanely good! Lets dive into the Mirabella Jewel Thief Holiday 2015 Collection.

There are two Second Skin Eyeshadow Palettes in the collection. I have Diamond Deceit Second Skin Eyeshadow palette which is a collection of shimmery/glittery neutrals with a fun pop of color. The other palette is a collection of purples called Lavender Larceny.  These Second Skin eyeshadows can be applied as a sheer wash of shimmery color or each shadow can be built up to increase the intensity of the color payoff. Each shade in the palette is silky smooth even with the amount of micro glitter present in the formula. I had zero issues applying the eyeshadows. Due to the shimmery, glittery nature of these shadows I do suggest applying them over a sticky base/primer. I get about eight to ten hours of wear time with these when wore over a decent primer.

The shadows don’t swatch well but on your eyes over a base they are stunning!

To go with your shimmery neutrals, I was also sent Mirabella’s Blackmail Eye Crayon. This chubby eye eye pencil is a deep matte black. It’s an intensely creamy formula that can be used as a base for a holiday smoky eye OR you can use it as eyeliner. Blackmail has been a go to eyeliner for me because of how creamy and long wearing it is. I love creating a smoky, neutral everyday look with Blackmail. Once this baby sets, it’s pretty budge proof. However, it is not completely waterproof. If you tend to rub your eyes frequently I would avoid Blackmail. Overall it’s a great addition to the Mirabella Jewel thief Collection.

Finally there are two chubby lip pencils in the Mirabelle Jewel Thief collection. Mireabella Velvet Lip Pencils: Wanted and Vice. I was sent Wanted, a pretty shade of pink with a hint of brown to it. I want more of these! Wanted is like an intensely pigmented lip balm. It’s creamy and moisturizing but it doesn’t need a lipliner to make it work. Very “Your Lips But Better” shade. Perfect for an everyday holiday look and easy enough to apply that you can carry it in your purse. I am tempted to try more of their Velvet Lip pencil line. Maybe after the holidays.

All in all this a very holiday appropriate collection. The Mirabella Jewel Thief Collection delivers on all fronts! Fun, holiday shimmer that will bring out your festive side just in time for all the Winter Holidays! Have you tried anything from the Mirabella line? What are your favorites?

Holiday 2015 Wish List

ebblog holiday wish list 2015 main

In a perfect world I would have access to all of the makeup and beauty products ever produced! Unfortunately, monetary restrictions and release dates prevent my hoarding of all things makeup and beauty. The boyfriend asked me the other day what I wanted for Christmas. Now, I might despise decorating for Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving but I do start my Christmas shopping early just to avoid the crowds. Color me impressed that he asked me what I wanted so early. Naturally a ton of beauty related items popped in my head. He told me to narrow it down to five (boo!) and here they are: My Holiday 2015 Wish List!

UDXGWEN Ebblog Holiday 2015 Wish List

Urban Decay UDXGwen Palette – Ok and Urban Decay palette that I own zero of the actual colors in it? I’m in! And the packaging is just so pretty! We don’t know much about this palette other than it will be released on November 22, 2015. Stay tuned to all of Urban Decay’s social media accounts for more details about this palette. In all fairness I’ll probably buy this myself but it still earned the top spot on my Holiday 2015 Wish List.

marc jacobs beauty ebblog holiday 2015 wish list

Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con 20 Plush Eyeshadow – I was playing with this palette in Sephora the other day. The shadows are remarkable! At $99 it is quite expensive however I own zero Marc Jacobs Beauty eyeshadow palettes and this is a “steal” considering that just one palette retails for $59 for 7 shadows. In this limited edition palette you’re getting 20 shades which is almost 3 palettes for under $100. My Sephora only had one left so the closer we get to the holidays my prediction is that this palette will sell out. I’m not one to buy the uber luxury brands for myself but I have zero issues adding them to my Holiday 2015 Wish List for others to buy moi!

coco mademoiselle ebblog holiday 2015 wish list

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle – This is my signature fragrance that I have been without for over a year so naturally it lands on my Holiday 2015 Wish List. There are three fragrances that my body doesn’t instantly consume: Coco Mademoiselle, Chanel No. 5 and Pink Sugar. Coco Mademoiselle has everything going for it: beautifully rich scent and the bottle is just stunning! I so want this fragrance again I have to really drill this one into his head.

bobbi brown lip university ebblog holiday 2015 wish list

Bobbi Brown University Lip Palette – This palette of 12 lip colors is so pretty and perfect for me because I like having all of my choices in one spot. Bobbi Brown is a head of the holiday palette game by releasing a palette of just lip colors. You can also use some of the shades as blushes too. I very rarely lust after lip products so you know it’s special if it ends up on my Holiday 2015 Wish List.

Make Up For Ever Cult Brush Set – I am dying for this set but at $89 this is most definitely not something I would purchase for myself. I really need to replace some of my cheaper brushes and I have been eyeing this since MUFE announced it. I have a few of their Artisan Brushes and I like them. Their sturdy, well built and have a good weight to them.

I have one non beauty related item on my Holiday 2015 Wish List: the Amazon Echo! I think I need the Amazon Echo (is it not fabulous!) in my life. I’m a sucker for new techie gadgets almost as much as I am for new beauty products. If you celebrate any of the Winter gift giving holidays. What is on your wish list? Are you as excited as I am for the UDXGWEN palette? Let me know in the comments below.
