Urban Decay Full Frontal Lipstick Stash –  If you are like me then your lipsticks dry out before you finish them. I actually prefer lipstick minis and this set is really the only thing that has excited me from Urban Decay’s Holiday 2014 offerings. You are getting six mini Revolution lipsticks (three of which are new and exclusive to the set) and a full size Ozone lipliner for $39. I also really like the packaging.

Sephora Favorites Perfume Sampler – Anyone who has followed me for years knows that I think these sets are on elf the best gifts to give to someone who is hard to shop for. This holiday season the set includes offerings from: Prada, Tom Ford, Chloe, Burbery and more . Not sure how this works? Each set contains sample sized options for each of the fourteen perfumes listed and a voucher to redeem for a full sized bottle of perfume.

Tarte Brushed with Destiny – Holiday 2014 Brush Wars have heated up with Tarte launching the first salvo. This five piece limited edition set contains Tarte’s popular buffer brush and assortment of other brushes. This set is housed in a gorgeous bag making this a must have in my opinion.

LORAC Pro Mega Palette – My early pick for the “IT” palette of Holiday 2014. We don’t know THAT much about the palette yet but if it’s anything like it’s two smaller sisters than I expect greatness from this palette. The release date was hinted to be some time in October. If I buy anything from the Holiday 2014 collections the LORAC Pro Mega Palette will be on the top of my list.

While I generally don’t enjoy having the holidays crammed down my throat so early but in the case of beauty products I think I’ll make an exception! The LORAC Pro Mega and the Tarte Brush Kit are topping my wish list right now.  Is there anything you are wishing for this Holiday 2014 season? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty Picks for Fall 2014

ebblog fall 2014 picks

The fall is one of my favorite seasons. Yeah, towards the end when everything is dead it can be depressing but the transition of colors, fall flowers, the scents, flavors, the weather… I just LOVE Fall. Unlike the other three beauty seasons, fall tends to get the least amount of love because the Holiday collections usually launch within a month of fall actually settling in and the shift focuses to the Holiday deals and steals. Before the holidays take over our lives pick up some of my Fall 2014 Beauty Picks and enjoy everything that the fall has to offer. ebblo fall 2014 picks 1.) LORAC Pro 2 Palette $42.00 – I have already raved about this and the Pro 2 is the perfect collection of neutrals and jewel tones for Fall 2014 with the added extra bonus of a mini eye shadow primer as well. A budget friendly alternative would be the Wet n Wild Limited Edition Fall 2014 Melrose palettes. 2.) Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick $44.oo – I rave about this every month and the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick is the BUSINESS. I can fake trained estheticians when wearing this foundation that is how much it mimics actual skin. It is long wearing but emollient enough to not dry your skin out as the air gets drier. This foundation stick wears/covers well on its own, is easy to apply and has INSANE lasting power when paired with a primer/setting spray. 3.) Make Up Forever Mist & Fix $12.00-$29.00- This is a recent discovery of mine and I have been reaching for it more than my trusted MAC Fix+. The fall is a transitional season so depending on where you live experiencing summer like weather into November can be expected. Make Up Forever Mist& Fix will set your makeup for the humid days and it will also add some moisture to your skin on drier days. You can get a travel sized bottle for $12! 4.) Serenity + Scott Powder Foundation $26.00 – If you prefer a powder foundation this is going to be your holy grail. The Serenity + Scott Powder Foundation applies beautifully, looks like skin, doesn’t cling to dry skin and it is available in a variety of shades. This is hands down my favorite powder foundation and I typically don’t like them. 5.) Too Faced Cosmetics Melted Berry $21.00 – Berry and red shades are hot for Fall 2014. Melted Berry is hands down my favorite dark lippie of the moment. It is long wearing, doesn’t bleed, glossy, not drying on my lips and leaves a very pretty stain behind. Pro Tip for wearing a dramatic lip: If you have drier lips, exfoliate your lips first and then follow with a light layer of lip balm before you apply your makeup. By the time you’re ready to do your lips they will be hydrated and ready for color. Also, darker colors should also be applied with a lip brush. 6.) Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners $3.99 – Waterproof, available in a staggering amount of colors, easy to apply, easy to find and affordable. What’s not to love about the Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliners. Optimal colors for fall: Black, Brown, Purple, Taupe, Nude and Deep Blue. 7.) Milani Eye Primer $5.99 – This is the best eyeshadow primer on the market right now if you ask me. If you’re going to be rocking some funky Halloween makeup, on trend smoky eyes, graphic liner, etc Milani’s Eyeshadow Primer is going to be your new best friend. Pro Tip: If your foundation/concealer is creasing no matter what you do, try a little bit of eyeshadow primer underneath your foundation/concealer. What are your go to beauty products for the fall? Is there any Fall 2014 beauty trend you are just dying to try? Ashley

LORAC PRO 2 Palette

everyday beauty blog LORAC Pro 2

The LORAC Pro 2 palette is new to their line for Fall 2014. This palette is a permanent addition to their full line. It contains sixteen shades (eight matte and eight shimmer) and a deluxe sample sized of their Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. The total weight of the LORAC Pro 2 palette is .32 OZ and it retails for $42. This is available at LORAC retailers/counter nationwide and online.

LORAC took the formula behind their original Pro palette (which is a HIT!), improved upon it some, swapped the tone of the palette (Pro 2 is substantially cooler) and came up with a palette that is really better than the original (IMHO) and that is usually a very hard feat to pull off.

I have very little to complain about the LORAC Pro 2 palette! This palette is hands down one of my favorites EVER. The pigmentation and all sixteen shades is just stunning. The LORAC Pro 2 is one of just a handful of palettes I own where all shades are just perfect. Each shade is soft, blend able and applies beautifully. No insane glitter bombs like the original Pro. The shadows in the Pro 2 also seem less powdery, so they are not as messy as the original. The wear time of the shadows in the LORAC Pro 2 palette is phenomenal: with primer I got a good twelve hours with no fading/migrating before I took the shadows off for bed.

The LORAC Pro 2 palette also comes with a deluxe sample sized version of their Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. This is a very creamy primer that looks tinted (flesh tone) but it is translucent when applied. LORAC’s eyeshadow primer reminds of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It’s a nice addition to the palette.

My one complaint is similar to one issue I have with the original Pro palette. I don’t care for the packaging much. The LORAC Pro 2 palette is packaged in a rubberized grey cardboard package which is easier to keep clean than the original but I have the same concerns when it comes to travel: I’m afraid it might break.

Enough about the one minus. Let us just swoon over the fabulousness that the LORAC Pro 2 Palette is:

This my dear readers is a MUST have, especially with the fall and winter approaching! And while it differs in overall tonie from the original Pro palette they do play very, very well together. The LORAC Pro 2 Palette is THE BUSINESS! Rush out to your local LORAC counter and grab this before it becomes as scarce as it’s older, warmer sister.

LORAC PRO Palette

ebblog review LORAC PRO Palette

LORAC’s PRO Palette was released with LORAC’s Fall 2012 line. This eye shadow palette contains 16 .02 OZ eye shadows and a mini .17 OZ Behind the Scenes Eyeshadow Primer. The PRO Palette retails for $42.00. It is currently available online and at LORAC counters nationwide but it can be a bit hard to find depending on where you are located. That is a good sign right?

LORAC’s PRO Palette was really unique in the world of mid- high end palettes when it was released roughly two years ago when it came to finish selection.  In the LORAC PRO Palette you are getting eight completely matte eye shadows and eight shimmery/sparkle eye shadows. Up until recently (LORAC PRO 2) you’d be hard pressed to find another palette like the PRO. The color selection does lean on the warm/neutral side of the color spectrum but don’t let that stop you from testing the LORAC PRO Palette out. Along with the palette, you’re also getting a deluxe sample size of their Behind the Scenes Eyeshadow Primer which is fairly decent as far as eyeshadow primers go.

I found that fifteen of the sixteen shadows included in the LORAC PRO Palette are superb! The only shade I found difficult to work with and a bit patchy upon application is Champagne (which BTW is the ONLY glitter bomb shadow in the palette). Otherwise the rest were easy to apply, blend and wore for eight hours or more with a primer (I have hooded, oily eyelids – primer is a must!). It seems like most companies can produce an exceptional eyeshadow palette loaded with shimmery/satin shadows, the real challenge are matte shades. Matte shadows have a reputation as being “powdery, chalky, difficult to work with” and I am glad to report that is not the case with the eight matte shades included in the PRO Palette. Each matte shade is buttery and a dream to work with. The great thing about the LORAC PRO Palette is that the matte and shimmer side play very well together. My current standouts for this palette are: Deep Purple, Nude, Cream, Mauve, and Pewter.

I do have two issues the LORAC PRO Palette. The first is that all of the shadows are INSANELY soft and you do kick up a little bit of product when using the palette, making it a bit messy at times. My second is the packaging is a bit on the cheap side. It reminds me of certain “Dollar Store brands” and given how soft some of the shadows are, I don’t see the thin, cardboard packaging as being beneficial in case it’s dropped or roughed up when travelling. The PRO Palette also has some type of rubberized coating that gets dirty fairly easy.

My LORAC PRO Palette has been a staple in my pro kit and my personal kit for close to two years now. I broke out my LORAC PRO Palette because I just bought the LORAC PRO 2 Palette. I plan to review it tomorrow and I wanted a review of the original LORAC PRO Palette to compare the PRO 2 to. Awkward sentence structure aside! The LORAC PRO Palette is  a great palette to grab, especially if you favor warm toned shadows. This is also a GREAT palette to gift a makeup beginner.
